Mentha oil prices fell by Rs 9.10 to Rs 1,095.90 per kg in futures trading today on profit-booking by speculators amid a weakening trend at the spot markets on subdued demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for September delivery fell by Rs 9.10, or 0.82%, to Rs 1,095.90 per kg, with a business turnover of 81 lots.
Likewise, the oil for August delivery lost Rs 6.60, or 0.60%, to Rs 1,086.60 per kg, with an open interest of 238 lots.
Market analysts said profit-booking by speculators, driven by a weak spot market trend on subdued demand led to the fall in mentha oil futures prices.
