Mentha oil prices fell by Rs 16.20 to Rs 852 per kg in futures trade today as traders indulged in profit-booking at existing levels, driven by a fall in demand in the spot market.

Adequate stocks availability following increased arrivals from producing belts also put pressure on the prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July fell by Rs 16.20, or 1.87%, to Rs 852 per kg with a business volume of 54 lots.

Similarly, the oil for May delivery lost Rs 16.20, or 1.80%, to Rs 882 per kg in 216 lots.

Traders said profit-booking by speculators due to a fall in demand in the spot market mainly pulled down mentha oil futures prices.
