Amid profit-booking by speculators, mentha oil prices fell by Rs 11.20 to Rs 1,080.50 per kg in futures trade today.

Subdued demand in the spot market also put pressure on the mentha futures here.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for August delivery fell by Rs 11.20, or 1.03%, to Rs 1,080.50 per kg, with a business turnover of 371 lots.

Similarly, the oil for July delivery lost Rs 10.80, or 0.99%, to Rs 1,078.90 per kg, with an open interest of 1,153 lots.

The fall in mentha oil prices was mostly due to profit-booking by speculators and weak spot market trend on fall in demand, traders said.
