Mentha oil prices rose by Rs 11.50 to Rs 1,089 per kg in futures trading today due to increased demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals from producing belts.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for August deliveryrose by Rs 11.50, or 1.07 per cent to Rs 1,089 per kg in business turnover of 552 lots.
Similarly, the oil for July delivery gained Rs 11.20, or 14%, to Rs 1,090.90 per kg, with a business volume of 2,049 lots.
Market analysts said increased demand in the spot market against less arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh mainly pushed up mentha oil prices at futures trade.
