Mentha oil prices gained 0.76% to Rs 1,133.40 per kg in futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions on the back of pick-up in spot markets demand.
Restricted arrivals from producing region further fueled the uptrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for August delivery gained Rs 8.60, or 0.76%, to Rs 1,133.40 per kg, with a business turnover of 764 lots.
Similarly, the oil for July delivery traded higher by Rs 7.50, or 0.67%, to Rs 1,125.40 per kg, with an open interest of 1,718 lots.
Market analysts said fresh buying by speculators on pick-up in spot market demand against less arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh mainly led to rise in mentha oil futures prices.
