Mentha oil prices fell further by Rs 14.50 to Rs 1,046.20 per kg in futures trading today on continued profit-booking by speculators amid a weakening trend at spot markets on sluggish demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for July delivery fell by Rs 14.50, or 1.37%, to Rs 1,046.20 per kg, with a business turnover of 1,593 lots.

Likewise, the oil for August delivery declined by Rs 11.60, or 1.09%, to Rs 1,053 per kg, with an open interest of 501 lots.

Market analysts said profit-booking by speculators, driven by a weak spot market trend on sluggish demand led to the fall in mentha oil futures prices.
