Mentha oil futures prices today rose by 1.31% to Rs 917 per kg as traders created fresh positions, driven by pick up in industrial demand.
Restricted arrivals from major producing regions due to heavy rains also influenced mentha oil futures prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July gained Rs 11.90, or 1.31%, to Rs 917 per kg, with a trading volume of 393 lots.
Similarly, the oil prices for delivery in August rose by Rs 10.20, or 1.11%, to Rs 928.60 per kg, with a business turnover of 95 lots.
Marketmen said fresh positions created by traders, following pick up in spot demand and lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh following heavy rains mainly pushed up the prices of mentha oil at futures trade.
