Mentha oil prices rose by Rs 4.80 to Rs 928 per kg in futures trade today as traders created fresh positions, driven by pick-up in spot market demand.

Fall in supplies in the physical market also influenced the mentha oil future prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in May rose by Rs 4.80, or 0.52% to Rs 928 per kg, with an open interest of a single lot.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in June gained Rs 1.80, or 0.20% to Rs 886.30 per kg, with a trade volume of a single lot.

Market analysts said a firming trend at the spot markets on pick-up in demand amid less arrivals from Chandausi market in Uttar Pradesh helped mentha oil futures prices to move up.
