Mentha oil prices rose by 3.10 to Rs 928 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions amid rising demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July rose by Rs 3.10, or 0.34%, to Rs 928 per kg with a business turnover of 464 lots.

Similarly, the oil for August delivery was trading marginally higher by 10 paise, or 0.01%, at Rs 932.70 per kg in 159 lots.

Market analysts said increased buying by speculators on rising demand in the spot market helped mentha oil futures to trade higher.

In addition, restricted arrivals in the spot market from Chandausi, in Uttar Pradesh, further fueled the uptrend.
