Mentha oil turned weak and fell by Rs 3 to Rs 915 per kg in futures trading today as speculators indulged in profit-booking, driven by a subdued spot demand from pharmaceutical units.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in June weakened by Rs 3, or 0.33% to Rs 915 per kg, with an open interest of one lot.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in April month shed Rs 1.20, or 0.11% to Rs 1,048 per kg, with a business turnover of one lot.

Traders said the fall in mentha oil prices was mostly due to profit-booking by speculators and a weak trend at the spot market on subdued demand from pharmaceutical units.
