Mentha oil futures prices rose by Rs 6.50 to Rs 1,331.50 per kg today, as traders enlarged their holdings, supported by export and industrial demand.

Restricted supplies from the growing belts of Chandausi, in Uttar Pradesh, also influenced prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in December edged higher by Rs 6.50, or 0.49%, to Rs 1,331.50 per kg, clocking a business volume of 277 lots.

The oil for January contract traded higher by Rs 5.60, or 0.42%, to Rs 1,320.60 per kg, with a trading volume of 58 lots, while February delivery prices were up by Rs 1.90, or 0.14%, to Rs 1,312 per kg, with a trade volume of nine lots.

Analysts said fresh buying by traders following pick-up in export and industrial demand and lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly pushed up mentha oil prices at futures trade.
