Mentha oil futures up on industrial demand

Mentha oil prices moved up by Rs 4.80 to Rs 1,338 per kg in futures market today, as traders enlarged their positions, driven by a rise in demand from consuming industries in the spot markets.

Restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also supported the prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, November mentha oil rose by Rs 4.80, or 0.36%, to Rs 1,338 per kg, with a business turnover of 861 lots.

The December delivery gained Rs 4.60, or 0.35%, to Rs 1,327 per kg, with a trade volume of 136 lots.

Market anlysts said increased buying by traders following pick-up in demand in the spot market against less arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly pushed up mentha oil prices at futures trade.
