Mentha oil futures prices rose further by Rs 5.70 to Rs 1,125 per kg today as traders created huge positions, driven by a pick up in spot demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, mentha oil for December delivery added Rs 5.70, or 0.51 per cent, to Rs 1,125 per kg, with a trade volume of just one lot.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in January gained Rs 4.80, or 0.42 per cent, to Rs 1,140 per kg, with a business turnover of five lots.
Market analysts said increased buying by speculators, supported by pick up in domestic and export demand, pushed up mentha oil futures prices.
