Mentha oil futures up on spot demand

Mentha oil prices moved up by Rs 6.70 or 0.96 per cent to Rs 703.10 per kg in futures market today as traders created fresh positions on pick up in demand against less arrivals. Increased offtake by pharmaceutical units further fuelled the uptrend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, mentha for May contract gained Rs 6.70, or 0.96 per cent to Rs 703.10 per kg, with a business turnover of 3,995 lots.

The oil for delivery in June contract also edged up by Rs 4.70, or 0.67 per cent to Rs 705.20 per kg, with a turnover of 1,930 lots.

 

Traders said increased domestic and exports demand against restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh helped mentha prices at futures market.
