Mentha oil prices rose by Rs 3, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 726.60 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions, supported by pick up in spot market demand.
Restricted arrivals at the physical market also influenced the mentha oil futures prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, mentha oil for August month rose by Rs 3, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 726.60 per kg with an open interest of 5,014 lots.
The oil for delivery in September month gained Rs 2.90, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 736.50 per kg in 3,480 lots.
Marketmen said rising demand and fall in arrivals in the spot market mainly influenced mentha oil prices at the futures market here.
