Mentha oil futures up on spot demand

Mentha oil futures prices moved up by Rs 11.20 to Rs 1175.50 per kg today on speculators buying driven by pick up in domestic demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, mentha oil for delivery in December rose by Rs 11.20, or 0.96 per cent, to Rs 1175.50 per kg, with a business turnover of just one lot.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in October gained Rs 8.20, or 0.73 per cent, to Rs 1132.20 per kg, clocking a trade volume of just one lot.

Traders said pick up in domestic demand pushed up the prices of mentha oil futures prices.

Restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also influenced the trading sentiment to some extent, they said.
