Mentha oil prices moved up by Rs 2.80 to Rs 872.10 per kg in futures trading today on rising demand against less arrivals in the physical market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July rose by Rs 2.80, or 0.32%, to Rs 872.10 per kg, with a business turnover of 67 lots.

Similarly, the oil for June contract delivery gained Rs 2.10, or 0.24%, to Rs 884.60 per kg in 54 lots.

Market analysts said rising demand from pharmaceutical units in the spot market against less arrivals from the Chandausi market in Uttar Pradesh mainly led to the rise in mentha oil prices in futures trade.
