Mentha oil prices rose by Rs10.70 to Rs 1,250 per kg in futures market today as traders enlarged their positions, supported by a pick-up in spot market demand.

Restricted arrivals from producing region also supported the uptrend in mentha oil prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, November mentha oil rose by Rs 10.70, or 0.87% to Rs 1,250 per kg in a business turnover of 89 lots.

The September contract gained Rs 9.40, or 0.76% to Rs 1,248.70 per kg in 554 lots.

Marketmen said besides pick up in spot market demand, restricted arrivals from the main producing region of Chandausi, in Uttar Pradesh, led to the rise in mentha oil futures prices.
