Mentha oil futures prices rose by Rs 1.30 to Rs 1,324 per kg today, as speculators created fresh positions, driven by pick-up in demand in the spot market.

Restricted arrivals from the growing belts of Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also influenced mentha oil futures prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, January mentha oil rose by Rs 1.30, or 0.10%, to Rs 1,324 per kg, with a business turnover of 113 lots.

The December contract traded marginally higher by 40 paise, or 0.03%, to Rs 1,313.50 per kg, with a trade volume of 77 lots.

Analysts said fresh buying by speculators following pick- up in spot demand against less arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly helped mentha oil futures prices to trade higher.
