Mentha oil prices gained 0.58% to Rs 1,196 per kg in futures trading today as speculators enlarged positions, supported by a rising demand from consuming industries in the spot market amid lower arrivals from producing belts.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in October gained Rs 6.90, or 0.58%, to Rs 1,196 per kg, with a business turnover of 548 lots.
The November contract moved up by Rs 6.80, or 0.57%, to Rs 1209.90 per kg, with a business turnover of 1,169 lots.
Marketmen said besides rising demand from consuming industries in the spot market, lower arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh pushed up mentha oil futures prices.
