Mentha oil prices shot up by Rs 39 to Rs 1,865 per kg in futures trading today due to pick up in industrial and exports demand.

Restricted arrivals from the growing belts of Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also supported the upsurge in mehtha oil.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the March contract for mentha oil shot up by Rs 39, or 2.14%, to Rs 1,865 per kg in business turnover of 1,950 lots.

The February contract jumped up by Rs 32.20, or 1.79%, to Rs 1,829 per quintal in 966 lots.

Analysts said besides pick up in industrial and export demand amid lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly led to rise in  mentha oil prices at futures trade.
