Mentha oil prices marginally rose by Rs 2.80, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 771 per kg in futures trade today on increased domestic and export demand, against the slowdown in arrivals from producing regions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, mentha oil for October-month delivery rose by Rs 2.80, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 771 per kg, with a trading volume of 59 lots.
The oil for delivery in August grew up by Rs 2.50, or 0.34 per cent, to Rs 748.70 per kg, with a business volume of 430 lots, while September contract inched up by Rs 2.50, or 0.33 per cent, to Rs 761.50 per kg, with a trading volume of 544 lots.
Traders said increased domestic and export demand mainly pushed up the prices of mentha oil at futures market.
They said restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also influenced the trading sentiment to some extent.
