Mentha oil remains higher on spot demand

Mentha oil prices rose further by Rs 20.80 to Rs 1,621.90 per kg in futures trade today following firm spot market demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March rose by Rs 20.80, or 1.30%, to Rs 1,621.90 per kg, with a trading volume of 157 lots, while the February contract went up by Rs 20.60, or 1.29% to Rs 1,607.40 per kg, with a business turnover of 1108 lots.

The oil for delivery in April rose by Rs 16.30, or 1.02%, to Rs 1,609 per kg, with a business turnover of 26 lots.

Marketmen said fresh buying by traders on the back of in spot demand and lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly pushed up mentha oil prices at futures trade.
