Mentha oil prices rose by Rs 5.10 to Rs 1,180.50 per kg in futures market today, as speculators enlarged their positions, driven by rising local and exports demand.
Less arrivals in the physical market also influenced the mentha oil futures prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March rose Rs 5.10, or 0.43 per cent to Rs 1,180.50 per kg, with a business turnover of two lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in January gained Rs 3.10, or 0.26 per cent, to Rs 1,182.40 per kg, with a business volume of single lot.
Marketmen said increased buying by speculators following rising domestic and exports demand against less arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, helped mentha oil prices to trade higher at futures trade.
