Press Trust of India New Delhi

Mentha oil futures fell for the second straight day, losing Rs 6.20 to trade at Rs 1,579 per kg today on profit booking by speculators due to sluggish demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March shed Rs 6.20, or 0.39%, to Rs 1,579 per kg in business turnover of 122 lots.

The February contract lost Rs 4.70, or 0.3% to Rs 1566.50 per kg in 790 lots.

Analysts said profit booking by speculators and a subdued demand in the spot market led to decline in mentha oil prices at market.
