Mentha oil rise on industrial demand

Mentha oil futures rose by Rs 59.90 to Rs 2,196.80 per kg today, as traders created fresh positions, driven by pick-up in industrial spot demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, April mentha oil gained Rs 59.90, or 2.80%, to Rs 2,196.80 per kg, with a trading volume of 253 lots.

The March contract also higher by Rs 32.60, or 1.55%, to Rs 2,122.90 per kg, with a business turnover of 389 lots.

Marketmen said fresh buying by traders due to pick-up in spot demand amid less arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly pushed up mentha oil futures prices.
