Mentha oil rises 0.4% on firm demand

Export enquiries influence prices

Mentha oil prices rose further by Rs 5.90 to Rs 1,367 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions, driven by the rising demand from pharmaceutical companies.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in September rose by Rs 5.90, or 0.43%, to Rs 1,367 per kg, with a business turnover of 264 lots.

The August contract increased by Rs 5.50, or 0.41%, to Rs 1,345 per kg, with trading volume of 730 lots.

Market analysts said besides the pick up demand from pharmacuetical units, export enquiries influenced mentha oil futures prices.
