Mentha oil prices rose by Rs 5 to Rs 1,204.10 per kg in futures trade today after speculators created more positions driven by pick up in demand from consuming industries.

Restricted arrivals from producing belts supported the uptrend in mentha oil prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in November rose by Rs 5, or 0.42%, to Rs 1,204.10 per kg, with a business turnover of 23 lots.

The October contract moved up by Rs 3.10, or 0.26%, to 1,186.60 per kg, with an open interest of 131 lots.

Marketmen attributed the rise in mentha oil futures to rising demand from consuming industries against limited arrivals from Chandouisi in Uttar Pradesh.
