Mentha oil prices rose by Rs 39.90 to Rs 2,473.70 per kg in futures trade today as traders created fresh positions, driven by pick-up in demand at spot market due to rising industrial demand.

Restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also influenced the Mentha oil prices at futures trade.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the April delivery gained Rs 39.90, or 1.63%, to Rs 2,473.70 per kg with trading volume of 380 lots.

The May delivery rose by Rs 29.70, or 1.24%, to Rs 2,425.10 per kg with a business turnover of 119 lots.

Marketmen said a firming trend at the spot markets following a pick-up in demand amid lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly pushed up mentha oil prices at futures trade.
