Mentha oil futures prices today fell 0.28% to Rs 1,382.50 per kg on profit-booking by speculators at prevailing higher levels amid a weak trend at the spot market on sluggish demand from pharmaceutical units.

Adequate stocks availability in the physical market following increased arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh fuelled the downtrend in mentha oil prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in August declined by Rs 3.90, or 0.28%, to Rs 1,382.50 per kg in a business turnover of 647 lots.

The September contract traded lower by Rs 3.50, or 0.25%, to Rs 1,404.60 per kg in 121 lots.

Market analysts attributed the fall in mentha oil futures to profit-booking by speculators at existing higher levels, driven by a sluggish demand from pharmaceutical units.
