Mentha oil prices rose by Rs 4.30 or 0.62 per cent to Rs 702 per kg in futures trade today on fresh buying by traders and strong spot market cues.
Increased offtake by pharmaceutical units also supported the mentha oil prices at futures market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for June contract rose Rs 4.30 or 0.62 per cent to Rs 702 per kg, with a trading volume of 96 lots.
The oil for delivery in July-month contract up by Rs 6.80 or 0.32 per cent to Rs 698.50 per kg, with a business volume of 20 lots, while May contract inched up by Rs 1.70 or 0.24 per cent to Rs 703.50 per kg in 384 lots.
Traders said, increased domestic and exports demand mainly pushed up the prices of mentha oil at futures market.
They said restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also influenced the trading sentiment to some extent.
