Mentha oil trades lower by 0.6% on profit-booking

Mentha oil for delivery in September shed 0.38%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices fell 0.65% to Rs 914.70 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at existing levels, driven by a weak demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

Adequate stocks position in the physical market due to increased arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also put pressure on mentha oil.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in August traded lower by Rs 6, or 0.65% to Rs 914.70 per kg in business turnover of 40 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in September shed Rs 3.60, or 0.38% to Rs 931.90 per kg in 414 lots.

Market analysts said profit-booking by speculators at current levels, driven by a weak demand from consuming industries in the spot market against adequate supplies mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade.
