Mentha oil futures prices tumbled by Rs 30.90 to Rs 1,202.80 per kg today on heavy off-loading by speculators, driven by weak demand in the spot market.

Adequate stocks following increased arrivals from producing regions also put pressure on the mentha oil prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, Mentha oil for November contract tumbled by Rs 30.90, or 2.50 per cent to Rs 1,202.80 per kg, with a trade volume of just one lot.

The oil for delivery in December contract also plunged by Rs 30.70, or 2.44 per cent to Rs 1,228.80 per kg, with a trade volume of just one lot.

Marketmen said heavy off-loading of positions by speculators amid fall in demand in the spot market pulled down mentha oil prices.
