Mentha oil up 0.3% on industrial demand

Prices went up as speculators enlarged positions

Mentha oil futures for May gained Rs 2.40, or 0.27%, to Rs 879.60 per kg in 93 lots.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the oil for delivery in the June contract traded higher by Rs 1.30, or 0.15%, to Rs 869 per kg in 12 lots.

Prices went up as speculators enlarged positions.

Pick-up in industrial demand in the spot market amid restricted arrivals from producing regions.

Analysts attributed rise in mentha oil futures to pick up in demand from consuming industries against limited supplies, triggering fresh positions created by speculators.
