Mentha oil up 0.3% on spot demand

Traders created fresh positions, driven by pick-up in demand from consuming industries in spot markets

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil futures prices today shot up by 0.34% to Rs 835.50 per kg as traders created fresh positions, driven by pick-up in demand from consuming industries in spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in October gained Rs 2.90, or 0.34%, to Rs 835.50 per kg, with a trading volume of 286 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in November edged up by Rs 1.80, or 0.21%, to Rs 848.10 per kg, with a business turnover of 450 lots.

Marketmen said a firming trend at the spot markets amid restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade here.
