Mentha oil up 0.4% as demand picks up

Oil for February contract traded higher by 0.29%

Mentha oil prices rose by 0.44% to Rs 819.20 per kg in futures trade today as traders created fresh positions, driven by pick up in demand from consuming industries in spot markets.

The trading sentiment improved further on lower arrivals from major producing area of Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in January rose by Rs 3.60, or 0.44%, to Rs 819.20 per kg, clocking a business volume of 120 lots.

The oil for February contract traded higher by Rs 2.40, or 0.29%, to Rs 829 per kg, with a trading volume of 163 lots.
 
Analysts said speculators created fresh positions on rise in demand from consuming industries in the spot market against restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly pushe3d up mentha oil prices at futures trade.
