Mentha oil futures prices today rose by Rs 8.90 to Rs 2,050 per kg, as speculators created fresh positions driven by rising spot market demand.

Restricted arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh further fuelled the uptrend in mentha oil futures prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in April added Rs 8.90, or 0.44%, to Rs 2,050 per kg in business turnover of 79 lots.

The March contract gained Rs 6.40, or 0.32%, to Rs 2,035.70 per kg in 488 lots.

Analysts said fresh buying by speculators after pick up demand in the spot market amid restricted arrivals from major producing area of Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh mainly pushed up mentha oil futures prices.
