Mentha oil rose further by 0.78% to Rs 870 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their holdings on the back of strong demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in August added Rs 6.70, or 0.78%, to Rs 870 per kg in business turnover of 755 lots.
Similarly, mentha oil for delivery in September gained Rs 5.90, or 0.67%, to Rs 885.10 per kg in 228 lots.
Market analysts said the rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade was mostly supported by strong demand at spot markets against tight supplies from producing regions.
