Mentha oil up 1.1% on pick-up in demand

Oil for April contract traded higher by 0.95%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices rose 1.18% to Rs 809.80 per kg in futures trade today as traders created fresh positions, driven by pick up in demand from consuming industries in spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March rose by Rs 9.50, or 1.18%, to Rs 809.80 per kg, clocking a business volume of 274 lots.

The oil for April contract traded higher by Rs 7.70, or 0.95%, to Rs 817.70 per kg, with a trading volume of 33 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by speculators on the back of a rise in demand from consuming industries in the spot market against restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly led to rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
