Mentha oil up 1.15% on pick-up in demand

Mentha oil prices rose by Rs 10.30 to Rs 905.30 per kg in futures trade today on pick up in domestic and export demand at lower levels, against slowdown in arrivals from producing regions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, mentha oil for November delivery rose by Rs 10.30, or 1.15 per cent, to Rs 905.30 per kg, with a trading volume of 576 lots.

The oil for delivery in October-month was up by Rs 9.40, or 1.06 per cent, to Rs 894 per kg, with a business volume of 1,834 lots, while December contract inched up by Rs 9.30, or 1.02 per cent, to Rs 914.50 per kg, with a trading volume of 83 lots.

 

Traders said increased domestic and export demand, mainly pushed up the prices of mentha oil at futures market.

They said restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also influenced the trading sentiment to some extent.
