Mentha oil prices rose by 1.56% to Rs 1,048.60 per kg in futures trading today as speculators enlarged their positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market on strong industrial and export demand.

Tight stocks availability in the physical market following less arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh further fuelled the uptrend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in June rose by Rs 16.10, or 1.56%, to Rs 1,048.60 per kg in business turnover of 728 lots.

In a similar fashion, mentha oil for July delivery traded higher by Rs 16.20, or 1.55%, to Rs 1062.10 per kg in 590 lots.

Market analysts said speculators enlarged their positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market on strong industrial and export demand against restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly pushed up mentha oil futures prices.
