Mentha oil prices remained higher and rose by another 0.52% to Rs 929 per kg in futures trade today as traders bumped up bets, driven by pick-up in demand from consuming industries at the spot market.

Besides, tight supplies in the physical market on restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh supported the upside.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in October rose Rs 5.20, or 0.52%, to Rs 929 per kg in business turnover of 122 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in September contracts traded higher by Rs 4.20, or 0.46%, to Rs 915.40 per kg in 113 lots.

Marketmen said a firm trend on upswing in demand from consuming industries amid restricted arrivals from producing regions mainly led to an upward trend in mentha oil prices.
