Snapping a three-day losing streak, mentha oil prices recovered by Rs 3.20 to Rs 1,613.10 per kg in futures trade today after speculators created fresh positions, driven by pick up in demand in spot market.
Restricted arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh also supported the uptrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March recovered by Rs 3.20, or 0.20% to Rs 1613.10 per kg in business turnover of 148 lots.
The February contract traded higher by Rs 2.50, or 0.16% to Rs 1,591.70 per kg in 392 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by speculators supported by a rise in demand in the spot market mainly helped mentha oil prices to trade higher at futures market.
