Amid pick up in demand from pharmaceutical units in the spot market and less arrivals from producing belts, mentha oil prices traded higher by Rs 10.70 to Rs 1,281.10 per kg in futures market today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in September rose by Rs 10.70, or 0.84%, to Rs 1,281.10 per kg, with a business turnover of 16 lots.

The July contract moved up by Rs 8.30, or 0.68%, to Rs 1,237.70 per kg, with a business turnover of 677 lots.

Market analysts said besides pick up in demand from pharmaceutical units, less arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh mainly led to a rise in mentha oil prices at futures trading.
