Mentha oil up over 1% on spot demand

Increasing demand from exports supported the trade

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil futures prices today shot up by 1.13% to Rs 934.90 per kg as traders created fresh positions, driven by pick-up in spot market demand.

Increasing demand from exports and limited supply from the producing areas led to rise in the prices of mentha oil.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the June contract gained Rs 10.50, or 1.13%, to Rs 934.90 per kg in 766 lots.

The May contract edged up by Rs 7.70, or 0.83%, to Rs 925 per kg in 63 lots.

Marketmen said a firming trend at the spot markets amid restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade here.
