Mentha oil weakens on hopes of higher output

The August contract shed Rs 3.10, or 0.33%, to Rs 1,310.10 per kg in 1,107 lots

Mentha oil prices declined by Rs 4.90 to Rs 1,330.60 per kg in futures trade today following hopes of higher crop output.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in September declined by Rs 4.90, or 0.37%, to Rs 1,330.60 per kg, with a business turnover of 1,927 lots.

The August contract shed Rs 3.10, or 0.33%, to Rs 1,310.10 per kg in 1,107 lots.

Marketmen said the fall in mentha oil futures was due to offloading of positions by speculators on hopes higher crop output.
