Mentha oil prices weakened by Rs 7.60 to Rs 1,325.50 per kg in futures trade today as speculators offloaded their positions on the back of sluggish demand from pharmaceutical units against adequate positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in August declined by Rs 7.60, or 0.57%, to Rs 1,325.50 per kg, with a business turnover of 668 lots.

The September contract traded lower by Rs 7.10, or 0.52%, to Rs 1,347.30 per kg in 90 lots.

The fall in mentha futures prices was due to sluggish demand from pharmaceutical units against adequate stocks availability in the physical markets, traders said.
