Menthol rises on short supply

Menthol prices rose by Rs 10 per kg in the national capital today, largely on the back of short supplies from producing belts amid rising domestic and export demand.

In addition, reports of a fall in production also supported the upside in prices. Menthol bold crystal, menthol flake and mentha oil prices rose by Rs 10 to Rs 1,420, Rs 1,370 and Rs 1,275 per kg, respectively. 

Marketmen said apart from tight supply, rising domestic and export demand, mainly pushed up the prices of mentha oil at the wholesale chemical market here.
