Menthol prices fell upto Rs 10 per kg in the national capital today owing to reduced offtake by consuming units.
Adequate stocks followed by increased arrivals from the producing belts in Uttar Pradesh also put pressure on the prices. Menthol bold crystal, flake and mentha oil prices fell in the range of Rs 5-10 to Rs 910, Rs 880 and Rs 810 per kg, respectively.
Marketmen said reduced offtake by consuming units, against increased arrivals from the producing belts in Uttar Pradesh mainly led to a decline in menthol prices.
Weakening trend in futures market also put pressure on the prices, they said.
