Menthol weakens on fall in demand

Menthol prices fell by Rs 20 per kg in the national capital today owing to reduced offtake by consuming units.

Increased arrivals from producing belts in Uttar Pradesh and weakening trend in future markets also put pressure on prices.

Menthol bold crystal, flake and mentha oil prices fell by Rs 20 each to Rs 1,350, Rs 1,320 and Rs 1,230 per kg, respectively. 

Marketmen said reduced offtake by consuming units against increased arrivals from producing belts in Uttar Pradesh markets put pressure on the menthol prices.
